Sukhoi Su-30MKI Air Superiority Fighter In Indian Air Force

The Sukhoi Su-30Mki is a twin-jet Air Superiority Fighter designed and developed by Russia’s Sukhoi and built under licence by India’s Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL).It is specially made to serve its service in Indian Air force.

Sukhoi-30MKI is the heavy ,long range all weather fighter.The Su-30MKI had introduced in IAS in September 27,2002 and till now IAS has more than 200 Sukhoi  SU-30MKI’s.The SU-30Mki has the unmatched capabilities .The aircraft is fitted with  Indian specifications  ,Indian System and Indian Avionics.It is also integrated with sub-system of France and Israel.It is one of the aircraft with relaxed stability,reliability and manoeuvrability.

Sukhoi Su-30MKI Air Superiority Fighter in Indian Air Force-DESIGN and Features

The Airframe of highly Integrated twin-finned Su-30Mki is made up of from titanium and high-strength aluminium alloys.There is a proper housing of the intake ramps and Nacelles specially to provide continuous streamlined flow between the nacelles and the tail beam.The equipment compartment,fuel tank and brake parachute container is placed at central beam section of the aircraft that lies in between the engine nacelles.

The fuselage is made up of semi-monocoque construction and includes the cockpit,radar compartments and the avionics bay.With the aerodynamic configuration the triplane demonstrates relaxed stability.The aircraft integrated with aerodynamic canard that increases the lift and deflect ability of the aircraft and ensures its safer and faster flights even at high angle of attacks.With its aerodynamic configuration and thrust vectoring control the SU-30MKI able to deploy the weapons in any of the direction and it offers outstanding manoeuvrability ,taking off and landing features.

The Su-30MKI ha a length of 21.935m,height of 6.36m and wingspan of 14.7m.The aircraft has a crew capacity if 2 members and has a maximum take off weight of 38,800 Kg.The Cockpit is equipped with LCD displays for navigation,tactical situation indication and for viewing overall status.

Avionics

The Su-230MKI is integrated with unmatched avionics suite.It is unified with  NIIp N011M Bars digital multi-mode dual frequency band radar  that can capable of operated air-to-air and air-to land/sea mode simultaneously.The modern digital weapon system,N011M and anti-jammed features made it capable of engaging 4 targets simultaneously at one time with the detection of 11 other targets.

The Su-30MKI Aircraft is consolidated with OLS-30 Laser that uses Infrared for detection up to the range of 90km. Moreover  the Aircraft is fitted with a satellite navigation system ,global positioning and Ring laser Gyroscope inertial navigation system.Electronic Counter measure system is also merged in avionics suite of the Aircraft.

The Su-30MKI is equipped with two Al-31Fp turbofans that can capable of producing 27,550 lbf after-burn thrust.It has a maximum speed of Mach 2 (2100 km/h).the aircraft has a operational range of 3,000km and it has a Rate of climb of 230m/s.

The special thrust vectoring nozzles  are canted on on to the engine that allows the aircraft to create thrust vectoring moments about all three rotational axes,pitch,yaw and roll.

The Su-30MKI is integrated with 30mm GSh-1 gun with 12 hardpoints.It is capable of carrying 8 tonnes of external load or armaments.

Air-to-air missiles –10xR-77(AA-12) medium range AAm,10xAstra missile medium range AAM,6xR-27ER(A-10C),6xR-27ET(AA-10D),2xR-27R(AA-10A),2xR-27T(AA-10B),6xR-73(AA-11) amd 3x Novator KS-172 AAM-L.

Air-to-Surface missiles-3x Kh-59ME TV guided Standoff Missile,3x Kh-59MK active radar antiship missile,4xKh-35 antiship ,missile,1x Brahmos Supersonic cruise missile,3x Brahmos-M,1x Nirbhay Subsonic cruise missile,6xKh-31P/A anti radar missile,kn-29T/L laser guided,4x S-8 rocket pods and 4x S-13 rocket pods.

Bombs-8x KAB-500L laser guided bomb,3xKAB-1500L lasr guided bomb,8xFAB-500t gravity bomb,28x OFAB-250-270 gravity bombs,32xOFAB-100-120 gravity bombs and 8xRBK-500 Cluster Bombs.
